Teacher ToolsThere are many different types of technology tools that teachers can use with their students. To better break them down I have divided them into the following five categories.
Class Management Tools
The following tools are used to help monitor and improve student behavior. There are many other tools and ways to address student behavior, these are great ones to get started with. |
Apple's Learning Resources for Educators
If you haven't checked out resources in iTunes U I highly recommend it. Select the image below to find: iBooks, app lists, and iTunes U Courses. |

It is important that we equip our students with the skill set to think critically, behave safely, and respond responsibly while online and when using technology devices. Common Sense Media has a lot of great resources for teachers.

Learning Management Tools
All three of the tools below have unique features that are worth checking out. Schoology is a true learning management tool, while Seesaw and Class Kick have a select few features of the traditional LMS. I highly recommend Seesaw for K-2 teachers. It is an incredibly easy way to get kids producing digital content (or documenting other production via images) that you can use to monitor growth and share with parents.

Formative Assessment
Technology makes it easy to assess student learning. When you combine research based assessment strategies, appropriate instructional technologies you obtain engaged students, can provide immediate feedback, and can make informed decisions. Below is a presentation on using formative assessments. Select the Formative Assessment Button for specific tools and resources
